Description
The largest of the flightless birds and native to Africa, the Ostrich is farmed for its decorative feathers. Using artistic licence, this project is worked in the delicate shades of the Little Karoo – semi-desert region of Southern Africa that is home to most of the Ostrich farms in that area. This project features a variety of stitches and techniques as under:
- 20 embroidery stitches/stitch variations
- 1 bead embroidery stitch
- 9 x 3-dimensional beadwork elements
- 3 needle lace patterns
- 2 needle weaving patterns

Finished size is 310 x 190 mm.

All of the stitches and techniques are to be found in the Crewel Creatures book. There are also detailed instructions, often with the video clips, in the Resources area in the workroom.
