Needle Lace stitch number 16 involves working detached buttonhole stitches onto existing detached buttonhole stitches to create a rather nice diagonal group.
Work through the video clip with perle no. 5 thread on circle that measures 30 mm in diameter. Then, when you are satisfied that you are beginning to understand the concept, particularly the tension, you work the technique using finer and finer thread – first perle #8, then perle #12 and even Dentelles #80.
Instructions are provided on the tuition page and there is also a downloadable and printable PDF document with the same instructions and illustrations as well as a template for the 30 mm circle.
Once you have worked through the stitch using the diagram and instructions, in tandem with the video clip on the tuition page, you should be able to use this stitch in your embroidery projects.
