Waiting For Santa

Description

The cuff of the Christmas stocking has no quilting fabric.  It is worked to resemble crazy patchwork.  Lines were drawn to map out the way a piece of crazy patchwork would be constructed and then, all of the blocks were filled in with various needlework techniques to create a piece that resembles crazy patch.  Call it ‘Crazy Patch from Scratch’, if you will.  Instructions for making up the stocking, as well as the pattern, are in the book.  It uses a wide variety of stitches and techniques as under:

• 16 embroidery stitches/stitch variations
• 5 bead embroidery stitches
• 3 x 3-dimensional beadwork elements
• 4 needle lace patterns
• 4 needle weaving patterns
• 3 silk ribbon embroidery stitches
• 2 tatting patterns

Finished size: The cuff of the Christmas stocking measures 360 x 110 mm.  The completed stocking is 410 mm high x 260 mm wide at its widest point.
