Needle Weaving Checks and Stripes no. 7 is a gingham pattern and is used in some of the projects in our range of embroidery designs.
Work through this video clip using first, a 30 mm diameter circle with perle no. 5 thread. Then, when you are satisfied that you are beginning to understand the concept, particularly concentrating on the idea of keeping your pattern intact as you start each row, you work more circles using finer and finer thread – first perle #8, then perle #12 and even Dentelles #80 – and you should get to the point where understand the concept of using loom weaving patterns for needle weaving in your embroidery.
Once you have worked through the patterm using the diagram and instructions, in tandem with the video clip on the tuition page, you should be in a position to use this stitch in your embroidery projects, or use it as a springboard towards using a variety of needle weaving patterns in your embroidery.
The 19½ minute video tuition clip is filmed in high resolution and is accompanied with voice over instructions to guide you through the learning process.
